Europe’s Maritime industry officials and executives had discussed on how contemporary information organizing can enhance short sea shipping in Europe. The workshop which was being organized in mid 2009 by PROPS2 a prospective project dealing on issues related to short sea shipping was attended by high officials from the industry. This workshop was second amongst three of the major events held by PRPS2.
The open discussion reflected on issues like contemporary research methods and policy proposals. They felt somehow that information technology would support in enhancing short sea shipping across Europe. Reports revealed that specialists from the European Maritime Safety Agency and European Commission were to initiate a discussion on this particular matter. They have opined on the good effects of the mergence of information management processes and online maritime information would ultimately leverage short sea shipping at once.
The workshop that was held in 2009 mainly dealt on issues barring short sea shipping. Participants from across Europe came to join for a cause focusing on the maritime industry. They had also emphasized on issues such as commercial networking plans and accelerating growth of SSS operations. Short sea shipping which is subjected to logistical hindrances must deal with the issue seriously in order to obtain prospective ways for smooth running.
