A campaign had been conducted with aims for inspecting tanker damage stability. The campaign which started from September, 2010 to the end of November, 2010 have revealed some scary facts. The survey unveiled that there were around 16% vessels, mainly ships which had dangerous faults in them. Reports showed that almost 173 tankers made demonstrations which clearly stated that these vessels did not comply with the normal loading strategies.
The Paris MOU secretariat has revealed its concern tankers which failed to comply with the IMO damage stability necessities. This however showed that these ships were much prone to collision or sinking which would again lead to huge destruction. Several lives would be lost and the ecological balance would again be shaken. Marine life is likely to encounter damages with humans being affected thereafter. The survey was mainly carried out to evaluate prevailing situations for tanker damage stability.
Around 94 inspection programs were undertaken to detect tanker damage probabilities and the group was astonished to find out that maximum vessels didn’t comply with the normal loading rules. Again around 4 ships were disallowed to sail off as they failed to comply with the tanker damage stability terms. However authorities claim that detention of a small of ship wouldn’t help in carrying out the welfare mission. The UK shipping information provides several measures taken up by the UK Government to prevent marine pollution. Today Europe is taking increasing measures to restrain marine life disruption.
